Time travel is the concept of traveling from one time to another in a split of second, this is from the past to the future and from the future to the past.
According to Albert Einstein, "time is an illusion".
ILLUSION is what appears to be what you think it is, example of an illusion is the poll of water that appears in a distance on the tar during the day but disappears upon arrival on that point (it's called a mirage).
Most of us still do not comprehend the concept of time travel neither how it actually works but here is a simple way to explain it. Basically there are theories that explains time travel and let's talk about two: Worm hole:
Worm hole can be explained as a bridge that cancels the space that exist between different places allowing you travel to a particular place by just a step. See illustration in the diagram bellow:
Black hole:
Black hole is a region of space time where gravitational acceleration is so strong to the point that no particles even electromagnetic radiation such as light cannot escape from it.
Others are the Comic String and the Infinite Cylinder theory.
There's a theory by Stephen Hawkings that if one could move round in a black hole, one can possibly travel through time and this can be possible if you're moving in the speed of light.
Consequences of time travel (Time Paradox)
To travel back in time could be fun but there are certain consequences involved, let's consider them
One must know time travel holds certain consequences according to Grandfather paradox. When the past is changed in any way, it creates a contradiction with the future. We sometimes desire to go back in time to undo what has already been done or to the future to see what will befall us.
1. Going back in time (the current timeline-T1) to change something, creates a new timeline (T2) where that which you went to change never happen thereby creating a new timeline which could be worse or better than your first timeline (T1).
2. Now, the timeline you created cannot be reversed to the preceding timeline instead it again create a new timeline (T3) if you wish to go back to the preceding (T2).
3. The past, present and the future is connected, you can not change the future, it would always find it way to happen.
Any intention of changing the future would rather be the cause of the future event coming to actualize.
Another way to learn about time travel is through our science fiction movies like, Star Trek, Star wars, Flash, Legend of tomorrow, Timeless and etc gives us a little clue and theories about time travel although the theories are science fiction but it put us to light on what we should except about time travelling.
